Hello! My name is Abigail (Abby) McClelland, and I am currently a sophomore majoring in Elementary Education at Ivy Tech. Outside of academics, I have a deep passion for animals, teaching and childcare, hiking, trying new foods, and shopping, all of which shape who I am beyond the classroom. Within my studies, I am especially eager to become a fourth-grade teacher. I am committed to continually learning new teaching strategies and instructional methods, as well as developing the resilience needed to overcome the challenges of working in a diverse classroom environment. My teaching philosophy centers on valuing and understanding each student as a unique individual and on believing that strong personal connections are the foundation of effective teaching. As I progress through my coursework and gain hands-on experience, I am open to evolving my teaching methods in response to new insights and best practices. However, my unwavering dedication to fostering a supportive and inspiring learning environment for all students will remain constant. I look forward to growing as an educator and making a meaningful impact in my future classroom.
