AAYL Summer Program 2024 High School Student Assistant

We are looking to hire one returning AAYL high school student to assist with the continuation of the AAYL Summer Program in 2024. This student will work with AAYL’s Program Director and Program Coordinator, to update the previous curriculum and teach in the upcoming program (June 24 - 28, 2024).
The student will learn how to:
Develop lesson plans
Implement classroom management
Engage students through thoughtful and directed discussions
Implement culturally sustaining pedagogy
Improve their public speaking skills
Compensation: The student will receive up to 25 volunteer hours for their professional development training and $400 for their week of instruction for the AAYL Summer Program (June 24 - 28, 2024).
Deadline to Apply: Monday April 22, 2024 at 11:59 pm PST
Following the application deadline, students will be invited to interview. A final decision will be made by the end of April 2024.
