If you are an Airasia Ride driver in the West Malaysia (Peninsular Malaysia) using a vehicle registered under code AB or AD, you must take a critical step before renewing your E-Hailing Vehicle Permit (EVP).
To ensure a smooth renewal process, you are required to declare your vehicle as a Private E-Hailing Vehicle (Code AH) at the Road Transport Department (JPJ). Failure to do so may result in your EVP or road tax renewal being delayed or rejected.
This guide will help you understand the process and the necessary steps to take.
What is an E-Hailing Vehicle Declaration?
It is the process of updating your vehicle category in the JPJ system from:
Private – Individual (AB/AD)
to Private E-Hailing Vehicle (AH)
This update is mandatory to enable your EVP renewal.
Why do you need to declare your vehicle?
JPJ requires this declaration to verify that your vehicle is officially approved for e-hailing use. If your vehicle remains registered under code AB or AD:
Your EVP renewal may be delayed or rejected.
You may encounter difficulties when renewing your road tax.
Who needs to make this declaration?
This requirement applies to Airasia Ride drivers in the West Malaysia who are still using vehicles registered under code AB or AD and have not yet declared them as AH.
Already declared? No further action is required!
