Announcement: *Updated 30 March 2026.
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) and Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) have recently confirmed and enhanced the eligibility for e-hailing drivers under the BUDI95 targeted fuel subsidy. Eligible drivers now qualify for a total monthly quota with additional up to 600 liters of petrol.
Here are the current requirements to qualify for the additional quota:
Malaysian Citizen with valid IC
Hold an active PSV License
Valid & Active EVP
Completed at least 1,500 km in bookings across all registered e-hailing platforms
MOF and APAD will consolidate the data from all registered e-hailing platforms to ensure eligibility criteria are met.
For Airasia Ride Drivers in Sabah, the current eligibility requirements apply and are subject to local regulations.
The government has enhanced the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) subsidy program to offer you more fuel support.
This change was announced by the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The new, improved eligibility criteria will be enforced starting April 2026.
1. How to calculate distance travel? (on demand and AB)?
The eligibility criteria refer to the total distance of completed bookings (trips) that you have fulfilled as an e-hailing driver. This covers both on-demand (immediate bookings) and Advanced Bookings (pre-scheduled trips). The booking distance on your Airasia Ride platform will be counted, along with any other registered e-hailing platforms you drive for. For Airasia Ride specifically, below are the logic for calculating distance.
For On Demand: The calculated distance covers from job acceptance to pick-up, and then to drop-off.
For Advance Booking (AB): The calculated distance covers from driver pressed "on-the-way" to pick-up and then to drop-off.
2. Does 1,500KM in bookings combined?
Yes, the requirement is to have completed at least 1,500 km in bookings when combining the distance from all registered e-hailing platforms you work for. MOF and APAD will consolidate the data from all platforms you are registered with.
3. When will I receive the additional quota?
The eligibility process for the increased quota (300 liters total) is managed by MOF and APAD directly through the E-hailing Operators (EHOs), including AirAsia Ride. Your eligibility will be automatically updated in the system once the data consolidation and verification process by APAD and MOF is complete by at least mid of every month.
4. What if I didn't receive the additional quota?
If you meet all the eligibility criteria (Malaysian Citizen with valid IC, active PSV License, Valid & Active EVP, and 1,500 km combined bookings) but do not receive the additional quota, it may be due to:
Data verification/consolidation delays by MOF/APAD, as the process for the increased quota is new.
Data submitted by other E-hailing Operators still being processed by the authorities.
The system only recently confirming your eligibility.
Airasia Ride's Commitment
As the consolidation is done by MOF and APAD, Airasia Ride will not have direct control over the final eligibility decision or the timeline for activation. You may be advised to check the official BUDI MADANI portal for status updates once the process is further along.
Airasia Ride's task as an EHO is to submit the data required by APAD based on the timeline determined by APAD. Airasia Ride does not have the power to intercept or influence APAD and MOF's decision on a driver's eligibility to receive the subsidy. We are committed to submitting accurate and timely data to facilitate the government's process.
