Here is a campus map with the FL-AAPT location indicated:
FIU doesn’t use physical parking decals or permits. Parking permits are assigned electronically and linked to your license plate (park head-in so your plate can be read).
Given the meeting location, the best parking will be in parking garage PG6. Failing that, PG4 or PG5 would be equally fine. These are all on the north side of campus, nearest to the turnpike.
There is metered parking (for 25 cents per 15 minutes) on the ground floor of each of these parking garages but, if participants would like us to pay for their parking, we can arrange a pass that will be valid all day, for any spot labeled "Faculty/Staff". To get a pass, visitors will need to send the following information to stemti@fiu.edu by Thursday, October 2 (to give time to process):
Visitor's Full Name
Make, model, and color of car
License plate number and state
Email address
We plan to take our lunch break at the 8th Street Campus Kitchen, which is the FIU dining hall located in the Graham Center (building adjacent to the meeting location), featuring a buffet with a wide variety of dietary choices. We will pay for the buffet for all who registered for in-person attendance, but the cashier will need to tally everybody in the group so the tab can be settled on a single bill.
