  • In this activity, students will have a chance to apply their textbook physics concepts to explain real world relationships. Students will research technical information on vehicle Fuel Economy ratings and Curb Weight for a variety of EPA Class Sizes. Each group will organize the data, draw conclusions, setup mathematical relationships, and present their findings in a professional meeting format.
  • Quantity Versus Interval (11:30 – 11:45am)
  • Jim Nelson, Santa Fe College
  • Often students confuse the value of a quantity with the change of the quantity. Distinguishing between these two ideas is a key or “hinge” concept, because it occurs commonly in understanding many physical quantities.
