Introduction to Module 2: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) & Community
Module 2 serves to examine the contributions individuals can make, in their local communities, to support the United Nations (UN) 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In Module 2, learners will create a one day, "Journal," entry, monitoring their contributions to sustainable development, with the first entry, describing the one way they contributed to the sustainable development goals (SDGs), in their neighborhood or community. Module 2 learners will also take and submit the, "Matching-List, "Things You Can Do," with a target pass rate of 70%. It is recommended that learners utilize the, “United Nations Lazy Person’s Guide to Saving the World,"(United Nations, n.d.), for ideas, about sustainable development (SD) and to complete the, "Matching-List, "Things You Can Do."
Most people assume it is only corporations or large organizations that can make a contribution to supporting sustainable development. As global citizens we can have an impact on sustainable development by recycling, reusing our clothes, shopping local, donating clothes to a local charity, or writing our policy makers about issues that impact sustainable development. Learners may also go on a field trip to a place of your choice or choose any other activity to explain how you contributed to sustainable development in your neighborhood/community. Please make sure to make a notation in your one-day journal about your activity/activities.

Module 1. Learners will describe three activities to contribute to sustainable development (SD).
Module 2. Learners will describe one way to contribute to sustainable development (SD) in their neighborhood/community.
