Profile: Dr. Amit Kumar

Dr. Amit Kumar works an Assistant Professor of English at GITAM University, Hyderabad.

He has done his Ph.D (English, Language Education), M.Phil (English, Language Education), B.Ed (English), and PGCTE from The English & Foreign Languages University), Hyderabad, India

Prior to this, he completed MA (English) from Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University and BA (English) from TNB College, Bhagalpur, Bihar. Moreover, he was the founder of 'Genx Institute' for English at Sahebganj, Bhagalpur.

His research interests include English for Academic Purposes, Collaborative Learning, Methods and Materials of Teaching English, and Bi/Multilingualism.

He has co-authored books entitled ‘Learning to Learn: Study Skills in English’ (2015)and ‘Classroom Tasks in English- A Resource book for Multilingual Teachers’ (2018) and also contributed his chapters in books such as “Multilingual Education in India: The Case for English” (2016) and “English in the Class: The Art & Science of Communication” (2014).

In addition to these, he has a series of publications in the field of ELT, and also presented papers in the national and international seminars and conferences.
