We meet every Monday (except holidays, winter break, summer camp, or otherwise stated) from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Joint Forces Training Base (11206 Lexington Ave, Los Alamitos). Parents are encouraged to attend and interact with other parents while the Scouts learn new skills.
Our troop had an amazing time at Camp Whitsett in the mountains, where our scouts were able to do all sorts of fun activities for the week!
Our troop had an amazing time at the Camp Fiesta Island camp, where scouts enjoyed a tropical like week!
Scouts cheered on our graduating Eagles from Los Alamitos High School whom were paraded around the local neighborhood!
Our troop tried out a new camping spot for the Golden West District Camporee! Though this event was hit by heavy rain, Scouts enjoyed the adventurous time.
Scouts put their cooking skills to the test: who can cook the best Grilled Cheese! From their efforts, Mighty Phoenix, Dark Wolves, and Cyclones all created delicious meals that the tastetesters (the adults) enjoyed!
Our troop camped out in Big Bear, enjoying the cool weather and having fun enjoying the San Bernardina National Forest Campground
As we have done for many years, our troop has once again returned to Joshua Tree! This camp had beautiful scenery, and scouts enjoyed exploring the landscape.
Current and Eagled Scouts from our troop worked together to run the opening Flag Ceremony at the St. Isadores Veteran's Day event!
Scouts enjoyed Camporall, a regular camping event located at El Dorado Park. There, multiple troops met to teach scouting skills to Cub Scouts!
For the past couple years, Troop 658 had been invited to help out at the Harbor-UCLA Children's Health Fair. At the event, scouts helped hand out school supplies to young students at the event!
We enjoyed a week-long trip to Camp Bighorn where Scouts learned important skills for Merit Badges and had fun with the various activities.
Troop 658 hiked and camped at San Jacinto while witnessing the beautiful wildlife.
Our troop went to Whitewater and had fun hiking and camping among the beautiful wildlife!
Scouts enjoyed participating, working together, cooking and much more at the annual Camporee!
We made pancakes and had fun serving others at the Pancake Fundraiser!
We camped and hiked at Joshua Tree from 12/10 - 12/11.
Scouts hiked and learned about various wild life at one of the local hiking trails in Seal Beach.
Troop 658 supported our local Los Alamitos Veterans at the St. Isadore Historical Plaza!
We went on a backpacking trip to Crystal Cover, and enjoyed the beauty of the ocean.
Troop 658 had fun teaching Cub Scouts during the annual Golden West District Camporal at El Dorado Park.
Our troop camped at the Joint Forces Training Base where we had fun completing merit badges, swimming, watching movies, and playing ping pong.
We went to the O'Neil Regional Park, where we camped two nights and hiked to a beautiful summit.
Together with scouts and family, we enjoyed a beautiful kayak tour where we paddled over multiple different underwater habitats and saw sea lions, many of California's state fish, and much more.

We slept inside of the USS Iowa and were able to see a canon be shot from the military ship. At the end, we received our own personal dog-tags.
Helping to guide the younger Cub Scouts, we slept overnight at El Dorado Regional Park, and we taught the younger scouts how to start a fire in addition to knots.
On the four day excursion, we visited the Sand Dunes in addition to Dantes View and Badwater Basin.
We sold coffee, donuts, and chips for the entire day and enjoyed the Car Show and Dog Parade during the event.
At the park, we helped to clean up the ash from the fires, replace the burnt vegetation with new soil, and washed down the cabins with power hoses to remove the dirt from the exteriors.
We baked over 1000 pancakes for the congregation at Good Shepherd and enjoyed the well-cooked meal afterwards.
We participated in the flag ceremony, helped to assemble signs, aided volunteers to set up E-Z ups, and sold snacks to raise money for the troop. In total, we raised over $500 for our troop.
We visited Route 66 Museum, the Harvey House, the Railroad Museum, the Calico Ghost Tour, Amboy Crater, Old Woman Meteorite (Desert Discovery Center), and Calico Ghost Town. Later on, we will be launching rockets.
In March 2019, our troop went to Oso Lake, and the Scouts participated in the several activities, such as archery, fishing, compass and navigation skills, first aid, hiking, cooking fry bread, etc.
Our troop has had the pleasure of seeing over one hundred and thirty Eagle Scouts be awarded and recognized.
