In this activity, we are going to learn about the two essential elements of argumentative writing: counterclaim and rebuttal. When you are developing an argument, it is important to address what "the other side" might say against your claim (counterclaim) and include your response to that counterclaim (rebuttal). If yoiui address the other side but don't respond to it (rebuttal), then you are only strengthening the other side (counterclaim).
