Being hot towards God means that we understand the character and faithfulness of God and choose to trust him. When we do that, God gives us boldness and confidence to follow him.
Abraham was a great example from the Bible of someone who put his trust in God. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac, and Abraham obeyed God. Abraham had a relationship with God and he trusted him, so he was willing to do whatever God asked, even if it would be hard.
God spared Isaac's life by providing a ram to be sacrificed instead, and Jesus was the sacrifice, the Lamb, who God provided to die in our place. In order to build a relationship with God like Abraham had, we have to know God, spend time with him, and listen to the Holy Spirit.
Think of a time when you felt really close to God. Why do you think you felt that way?
Why do you think God was willing to sacrifice his Son, Jesus, for you?
What steps do you want to start taking to grow your relationship with God?
Pray and ask God to help you know him and trust him.
