Jesus wants us to be on fire for him - bold, confident, and unashamed - but we can sometimes put our confidence in people instead of in God. The story of Peter denying Jesus (Luke 22:54-62) is a great examples of someone who loved Jesus, but his fear was stronger than his faith. Even though Peter failed, Jesus didn't give up on him. In John 21:15-17, Jesus forgave Peter and called him to be a bold leader. Peter began to preach the gospel to thousands of people and had full confidence in God.
If you are a follower of Jesus, you can be confident in your faith In every aspect of your life - at school, with your teammates, with your friends. People may not always agree with you, but you're never alone. Jesus is with you, just like he was with Peter.
Read Luke 22:54-62. Why do you think Peter was afraid to admit he followed Jesus?
Have you ever been afraid to talk about your faith?
What is one thing you can do this week to be hot in your faith?
Pray and ask God to help you be confident in him, not people.
