Start with a magic ring*
ch 3 (equiv. dc), dc 11, slst in the third ch from start [12]
ch 3 (equiv. dc), dc in same stitch (increase), in the next 11 stitches: dc 2 (inc), slst in the third ch from start [24]
ch 2 (equiv. hdc), hdc in the same stitch (inc), sc, slst 2, sc, inc 2 hdc in same stitch, ch 2 - we did the first edge. Repeat three times after replacing the initial ch 2 with a hdc. Finally, close the row with a hdc (instead of ch 2) in the second ch from start. [10 x 4 = 40]
ch 3 (equiv. dc), dc in same stitch (inc), dc 7, inc 2 dc in same stitch, ch 2 - end of the first edge, repeat three times. [13 x 4 = 52]
