Lightning Talk sign up is open. If you are a presenter, you can view our shared Lightning Talks slides presentation here.
There will again be LIGHTNING TALKS at the 2025 GSoC Mentor Summit! This is where orgs showcase their best GSoC contributor work in under 3 minutes.
Lightning talks are brief-but-informative fun presentations about your very best GSoC 2025 contributor outcomes. There are basic guidelines in the first few slides in the shared slides deck for anyone that hasn't participated before, but one of the most important is to be relatable, interesting, and focus on the exceptional. Even if all your GSoC contributors were amazing, just tell us about 1 or 2 (at most) that will be understood by a general technical audience. No more than 1 min talking about your org; just give some context.
A few reminders about the lightning talks:
Talks are live. We will send you an order of speakers in a Know Before You Go comm on Wednesday, October 22!
Maximum of 3 minutes for your talk
Maximum of 4 slides (if you choose to use slides)
Similar to past in-person Mentor Summits there are 2 sessions on the schedule with room for about 35 speakers. People from the same orgs, please coordinate. Umbrellas will only get a second slot in the evening if slots don't fill up. Slides for your talks will play from the above Google Slides Deck, probably running from Chrome on a Mac laptop.
