Getting Around

Munich Marriott Hotel

The event this month will take place in the meeting rooms at the Munich Marriott Hotel.

The address at Berliner Strasse 93, 80805 Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

If you are driving to the event you can use the underground parking (be aware that the spots are limited), the daily fee per car is 34 €, you are responsible for paying for your parking.

You will just walk in the front door of the Hotel and the Information desk will be there in the lobby to your left where we will give you a welcome letter and name badge.

Local Airport

There is one local international airport near the hotel, the Munich International airport (MUC). Located at Nordallee 25, 85356 München-Flughafen, Germany.

Taxi and Ride Share Services

Standard taxis are available in Munich if you are walking on the street or can ask the hotel concierge to call a taxi for you.

Uber and Bolt

Both Uber and Bolt drivers are very popular and plentiful in Munich. Make sure to download the app on your phone prior to arriving in Munich for the fastest service.

Car Rentals

You can search for car rentals through Europcar or Hertz . Make sure to compare the rules of each car rental company, such as extra costs for insurance, restrictions on international driver's licenses, mileage, and pickup/return locations. You may wish to book your car about 2 months out and then check back every couple of weeks as the rates often get better depending on the demand.

Public Transport services

You are welcome to use the public transport services in Munich, please find below the options and pick the best one for you.

The U6 line is the main subway line serving Nordfriedhof. Providing a direct connection to key city center locations . The prices range from  €2.90 - €6.70 depending of the zones.

Other options are the Bus (several bus lines stop directly to the Nordfriedhof station) and the Lufthansa Express Bus (this bus has a direct connection between Munich Airport and the city). The Nordfriedhof station is a 7 minute walk to the hotel through a residential neighborhood.

Parking

There is underground parking available at Munich Marriott hotel. The parking is €34 for the GSoC Mentors, that you are responsible for paying for yourself.

Shuttle to MUC airport - Saturday, October 25

We will have a shuttle that will make 2 trips to the Munich Airport (MUC) on Saturday afternoon as many of you will be departing that afternoon.

The first shuttle will depart sharply at 2:30pm (loading begins at 2:15pm).

The final shuttle will depart sharply at 4:15pm (loading begins at 4pm).
