PROVISIONARY PERIOD
The provisionary period is defined as a temporary period of the program where the member’s continuation in the program will be determined by their ability to adhere to the requirements set out in the contract. The provisionary period will be 60 days. If the Recipient is not able to meet requirements during this period, the Recipient will be subject to termination of the agreement.
SCHEDULE AND CLASS PLACEMENT POLICY
ALL Members MUST adhere to the schedule/class levels chosen by Elevation Faculty in their sole discretion and individual class schedules are non-negotiable. There are always opportunities for a Member to move up or down in levels which will be based on performance in classes and skills testing, to be determined by the Elevation Faculty, at their sole discretion. The class schedule is subject to change based on enrollment.
Changes in a Member’s class schedule will not take place for any reason other than a teacher requests that Member to move into another class level because that Member’s level does not match that of the class.
If a Member wants to adjust a schedule, that must be done in writing to Renee Fleischer AND Lauren Dellinger by the 10th of the month prior. If a member withdraws from the class after tuition has already been processed for the said month, the member is still responsible for payment.
In Spring, all Company Members in good standing will be eligible to participate in the finale recital routine. A rehearsal schedule will be set by management and sent out via email.
Class schedule changes for a Member scheduling conflict with another activity outside of Elevation will not be accommodated.
Please check online the most current class schedule. Schedules and class times may change due to enrollment.
ABSENCE AND CLASS MAKE-UP POLICIES
***READ CAREFULLY. IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION PLEASE ASK. YOU ARE EXPECTED TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THIS POLICY. ABSENCES CAN CAUSE COMPANY AGREEMENT TERMINATION RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL CHARGES.***
Performance Company is an intense training program for Members. Upon execution of the Performance Company Agreement, members are required and expected to make Performance Company a priority. Every effort must be made to NOT miss classes. Consistent class participation is crucial to the success of these programs.
***There are many applicants for the Performance Company Program. A Member who does not comply with the requirements is taking an opportunity away from another eager student.***
EXCUSED ABSENCES
Definition
In order for an absence to be an EXCUSED, the Member MUST set forth in writing on the Application for Company any foreseen absences the reason for the absence.
Parents are required to complete an absence form (available on the Elevation website) in order for an absence to be EXCUSED. The link to the form is located at the top of the Elevation Dance Studio website. If an absence form is not received, the absence will be considered UNEXCUSED, regardless if a phone call was made to the front desk. We cannot keep track of every parent who calls in, so please be sure to fill out the form. Link: https://bit.ly/EDSabsenceform
Absences are tracked via in class roll call and online absence forms. You may receive a warning when excessive absences or when there are 3 absences in 1 class. It is still your responsibility to abide by attendance rules within the agreement.
Emergency Excused Absences
In the case of an unforeseen school, medical, and/or family emergency, the Member must set forth in writing the following:
A TEACHER’S NOTE for unforeseen school requirements that will affect their grade.
A DOCTOR’S NOTE for unforeseen medical emergencies.
A written note from their parents providing the reason for missing class for an unforeseen family emergency.
If a Member misses a class for an Elevation required rehearsal, convention and/or performance, that absence will count as an excused absence and will NOT count against the total allowed absences.
If an absence occurs outside of what is written on the application, or outside what is stated above, it will not be deemed an excused absence.
Absences eligible for an excused absence will be subject to approval by the Elevation Faculty and the Artistic Director.
Parents must complete an online absence form located at the top of the Elevation Website.
ABSENCE POLICY
Members are allowed a MAXIMUM OF 4 ABSENCES(excused or unexcused) in EACH of their required classes.
MEMBERS SHALL NOT MISS CLASSES DURING THE MONTH OF MAY
ABSENCES NOT RECORDED ON THE ONLINE FORM WILL BE CONSIDERED UNEXCUSED.
If 4 absences occur from one required class, whether excused or unexcused, it will be considered excessive and WILL result in Company Agreement termination.
For example, if a Member misses 4 Jazz classes, consecutive or not, such absences are automatically grounds for termination.
Any other activity/interest/dance rehearsal (outside of Elevation classes, rehearsals, performances, & conventions) will not be considered an excused absence.
ILLNESS/INJURY:
If a Member is unable to dance due to an injury, or is sick and NOT contagious, the Member is required to watch class and take notes if deemed necessary by the Elevation Faculty member teaching such class. If a Member is sick and unable to participate, a phone call from a parent to the front desk must be made AND an absence form must be completed. The Artistic Director, in her sole discretion, may determine whether the Member will be charged for the missed class. In the event a Member will be at 3 absences due to illness or injury, please contact the Artistic Director immediately.
In the event an injury persists and prohibits the dancer from fully participating in multiple classes within a 14 day period, a meeting with the Director will be required. If a doctor has not yet seen the dancer, the Director may require a visit and written authorization from a doctor in order to return to classes. If the dancer is diagnosed with an injury that is substantial enough that they cannot participate in classes for 30 days, a refund will be given in the form of a credit. If the injury is foreseen to last longer than 30 days, please schedule a meeting with the Director.
MAKE-UP POLICY:
Only EXCUSED absences are eligible for a MAKE-UP CLASS.
Make-up classes are available to Members from September – March ONLY (non-company members can only make-up until February).
If a Member misses a class, they are allowed ONE make-up class per month for 1 excused absence. (Note: only 4 absences, excused or not excused, allowed in 1 class before individual program termination.) Any other excused absences will not be eligible for a make-up. For example, if a Member is required to take 7 classes per week, but he/she misses 2 within a 1-month period, he/she will only be able to make-up 1 class.
ONLINE Absence form must be completed for excused absences to be eligible for Make-Up Class
All UNEXCUSED absences are ineligible for a make-up, AND will incur charges on your account. The charge will be $18 / class. For example, if you miss two classes you will be billed for $36 in addition to the monthly tuition. If classes will be missed, there may be an opportunity to assist in classes either the week prior or the week following an absence from class upon approval by the Elevation Faculty and the Artistic Director.
Permission to make-up an excused absence does not “erase” that absence. A make-up class gives that student an opportunity to get caught up on any missed material from the class absence.
TARDINESS POLICY
Elevation Dance Studio values the punctuality of our Company Members because it ensures the safest and most effective learning environment. Tardiness is defined as being five or more minutes late to class and/or missing warm up participation, and the instructor may mark a member tardy if the dancer is not in class five or more minutes after class has begun. As a company member, dancers may have multiple classes back to back. If the dancer has a personal matter to attend to in between classes(i.e. Bathroom, snack retrieval, etc.), it is the dancer’s responsibility to check in with their instructor prior to attending to the matter so they are not marked tardy. If a dancer is marked tardy three times in a class, that will count as 1 unexcused absence.
APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM and JUNIOR FACULTY PROGRAM
APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
Performance Company Members will have an opportunity to work off some of the tuition costs in the classes in which they can assist (Apprentice Classes), at the rate of $15/month. If an apprentice must miss a class, it is their sole responsibility to find a replacement. If 1 class is missed regardless of finding a replacement, the $15 tuition credit will not be applied for that month.
MANDATORY APPRENTICE TRAINING: TBA (in August)
More information on this program will be announced in August. Open spots depend on the needs of the faculty. Once Members have been selected for the season, the Elevation faculty will decide which Member they would like to apprentice in their class, if any. Apprenticeships are available to Members dancing at least 1-2 levels above the apprenticeship class. Not all applicants will be accepted into the apprentice program. In some instances, as approved by the Elevation Faculty and the Artistic Director, an Apprenticeship Class may be used as a make-up for an excused absence. In such an instance, the Member will not receive payment for the Apprenticeship Class.
JUNIOR FACULTY TEACHER PROGRAM
Company members ages 15+ are eligible to be invited to or apply for our student teacher training program. Student Teachers will learn the foundation of building a curriculum for a class, class management techniques, and fundamentals of choreography. If this is of interest to you, please email Artistic Director Renee Fleischer at renee@elevationdancestudio.com.
ACADEMIC AND BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
DANCE EXPECTATIONS:
Members will be evaluated throughout the entire season. In January/February 2025, Members will be evaluated by the Elevation Faculty. At such evaluation, the Elevation Faculty, in its sole discretion, will determine whether the Member will stay in the Company program, as applicable.
Members are expected to practice proper behavior and conduct in and outside of class including on social media. Failure to do so may result in termination of the Company Agreement, as determined by the Elevation Faculty or the Artistic Director, at her sole discretion.
Members are expected to treat teachers, directors, and other members with respect.
All Members must wear the proper attire and shoes for class. Socks may not be used for Ballet. Members are in training and must invest in the necessary attire at additional costs (agreements disclose details).
Members will be evaluated in every class throughout the duration of the program session in class conduct, overall behavior, attitude, performance, and improvement by the Elevation Faculty and the Artistic Director. A positive attitude is a must! Please remember that a Member’s attitude affects everyone in the studio and in the class! Elevation Dance Studio prides itself on being a warm, professional and welcoming institution that provides more than just great dancing.
ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS:

Student and Parent Use of Social Media: Use of Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, blogging and other social media outlets is commonplace. This policy is intended to provide Elevation Dance Studio Company Members and students guidelines for the use of social media.
You do not have permission to reveal any information that compromises Elevation Dance Studio. By that we mean the sharing of personal information about the director, staff, students and/or their families or any proprietary and/or confidential information is strictly prohibited.

Respect the law, including those laws governing defamation, discrimination, harassment, copyright and fair use. Parents and students should never post negative comments about other schools, teachers, or events, including competitions, conventions and performances.
You are representing Elevation Dance Studio as a company member. Posts that are inappropriate including implied use of drugs, overly sexualized content, or similar are unacceptable and are grounds for termination from the Performance Company program.
DRUGS AND ALCOHOL POLICY
Under Colorado law, it is illegal for minors to possess or consume alcohol, marijuana or tobacco. Elevation Dance Studio promotes a healthy environment for students and members by providing education, support and decision making skills in regard to alcohol, drugs and other controlled substances and their abuse. In order to accomplish this goal, a cooperative effort must be made among the Studio, parents/guardians, the students and members. It shall be a violation of Studio policy and considered to be behavior which is detrimental to the welfare or safety of other students, members or Studio personnel for any student or member to possess, use, sell, distribute or exchange, procure or to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other controlled substances including but not limited to tobacco and marijuana. The unlawful possession or use of alcohol or controlled substances is wrong and harmful to students and members. For purposes of this policy, controlled substances include but are not limited to narcotic drugs, hallucinogenic or mind-altering drugs or substances, tobacco products (including but not limited to juuls and all other vaping devices), amphetamines, barbiturates, stimulants, depressants, marijuana, anabolic steroids, any other controlled substances as defined in law, or any prescription or nonprescription drug, medication medicine, vitamin or other chemical substances not taken in accordance with the Studio policy and regulations on administering medications to students or members. This policy also includes substances that are represented by or to the student or member to be any such controlled substance or what the student or member believes to be any such substance. This policy shall apply to any student or member on or off Studio property, during a Studio sponsored activity or event, or any student or member whose conduct at any time or place interferes with the reputation of the Studio (as determined by the Studio in the Studio’s sole subjective discretion), operations of the Studio (as determined by the Studio in the Studio’s sole subjective discretion), or the safety or welfare of students, members, family of students or employees of the Studio (as determined by the Studio in the Studio’s sole subjective discretion). Students or Members violating this policy shall be subject to:
First Offense: 2 week suspension from Elevation (Elevation reserves the right to select timing of suspension) and 5 hours of volunteer service at Elevation. Members will be responsible for all tuition during suspension.
Second Offense: Immediately terminated from participation in any Elevation Dance program for the remainder of the year, and will be responsible for payment of all discounted tuition plus the remaining tuition for the year. Re enrollment of the student in Elevation Dance Studio programs is up to the subjective discretion of the Director of the Studio.
BULLYING AND/OR INTIMIDATING BEHAVIOR POLICY
Bullying against any student for any reason, including but not limited to any behavior that is directed toward a student on the basis of that student’s disability, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, ancestry, is prohibited. “Bullying” means any written or verbal expression, or physical or electronic act or gesture, or a pattern thereof that is intended to coerce, intimidate, or cause any physical, mental, or emotional harm to any student. Retaliation against a student who, in good faith, reports an incident of bullying is also prohibited.
Bullying other members, Elevation students, or anyone at the studio or outside of the studio is prohibited and in direct violation of the agreement. If a teacher or director receives 3 written notifications about a member of instances where there is a clear indication of bullying, it is grounds for automatic probation. Member reinstatement is at the discretion of the Artistic Director. It is at the discretion of the Artistic Director if the member’s agreement will be terminated.
REPORTING PROCEDURE:
Dancers and/or their parents are encouraged to report any misconduct by any company member. Anyone coming forward will remain anonymous. The first step in reporting is to contact the Director. After evaluation of the situation, the Director may recommend a written complaint and/or documentation/proof of behavior.
Since anyone reporting will remain anonymous, we will not reveal any names to the company member who is exhibiting misconduct. We must work together to maintain the highest level of expectations from all company members.
ONLINE CLASS CONTENT
The Studio reserves the right to deliver class content via an online system in the event classes are not able to be conducted live for any reason whatsoever, and the member remains responsible for Class Tuition. In the event that classes must be delivered online, the member shall make suitable arrangements to participate in class from home until studio-based instruction resumes.
OUTSIDE TRAINING/TRAINING EXCLUSIVITY
Company and Competition Team dancers must receive primary technical training at Elevation. We recognize that supplemental opportunities such as intensives, conventions, or guest workshops can offer valuable experiences. However, to participate in any training outside of Elevation, dancers must receive written pre-approval from the Artistic Director.
Requests must include:
Name and description of the program/event
Dates and location
Instructor and organization hosting the training
Exact amount of training hours
Goals of participation
External programs require pre-approval and must not conflict with the Elevation schedule. Violation may result in loss of program eligibility. Our program is built with long-term development in mind, not just short-term performance goals. We care deeply about each dancer's journey and we are here to help them succeed. If you ever have questions or feel your dancer needs more support, please don't hesitate to connect with Lauren and Renee.
TERMS OF TERMINATION
In the event that a member elects to terminate their contractual agreement prior to the conclusion of the program term, written notice of such termination must be submitted to both the Company Director and the Artistic Director. Failure to provide proper notification may result in continued financial obligation under the terms of the agreement. Furthermore, early termination may render the member ineligible for previously applied discounts, which may be subject to retroactive reversal and repayment.
Recipient acknowledges and agrees that there are many circumstances under which this agreement may be terminated by the Studio and/or by
Recipient and under such termination, for any reason whatsoever, termination of this agreement may result in Recipient being responsible for full
tuition without the scholarship discount from July 2025 until the time of termination. Payment shall be made by the Recipient to the Studio within
5 days of termination of this agreement. In the event payment is not made, the recipient shall not be permitted to attend classes at the discretion
of Studio. All unpaid amounts shall accrue interest at the rate of 2% per month.
In the event it becomes necessary for Studio to hire an attorney to collect payments, Recipients shall be responsible for all attorney fees and all other costs incurred by Studio, whether or not a suit is filed.
