A Foundation that Survives
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

A Foundation that Survives
10By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. 11For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.
We can build our lives on material things, houses, cars, or wealth -or as St. Paul says gold, silver, costly stones, or even wood straw, or hay...The only foundation that can survive the test of time is Jesus Christ...That foundation will not crack, break, or fall...He is our Rock...It is the only foundation that survives in this world and in heaven...
It is like we have already been given the Golden Key...We have the Key to the narrow gate...We have the Key to the Pearly Gates....The key opens the door to our Father and His Son...We just have to use the Key that God has given us...
