1 Corinthians 15:12-19
The Resurrection of the Dead
12But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.
Jesus is alive...He is not dead...The words of the angel are still valid today...Why do we look for the living among the dead?...Why would we study and search for and seek God in the Bible, if He is dead and not alive?...He was not in the tomb, He is risen...
If Jesus is still dead, then He has not risen...If Jesus has not risen and is still dead, then our faith and hope are also dead...If He is dead, then my words are dead, and thus lies and my words are a false witness to others...For if the dead cannot be raised then all are dead and none is alive...Even Jesus is dead...And if Christ has not been raised, our faith is futile; and we still are dead in our sins and wrongdoings...If He is dead, then good and evil are the same...Bad moral values and evil then are equal to good...And if He has not risen then believers are to be more pitied than all men...
If He is dead and not risen, then what a sad world we would be living in...Imagine a world without Him...Then all we would have is the majesty of man...A president, prime minister, or world leader would wield more power than anyone and anything...How sad...There would be no hope after our death...But what about our lives...There would be no purpose to live a life, or a long life...There would be no truth...We, in His great commission, are to spread the truth, the way, and the life (Matthew 28:16-20)...We are to spread the word of hope to the world...Imagine a world without this hope...We then should be pitied...
