"Borrowed Landscape" is a Japanese phrase for a style of garden which deliberately incorporates the view beyond one's own boundary. Few of us can aspire to mountains, yet quite a modest view 'over the fence' can suffice, like this:
Three layers: a model signal against a suburban skyline with the drama of actual sky beyond.
This scene looks right through the wire fence, not over it . . .
. . . while at a casual glance, this outdoor photoshoot borrows not just the trees but the fence itself.
