The Business Meeting:
I interpret the following as a Live and Let Live mandate from the entire G1MRA membership:
This got warm applause at the time, and many kind thanks afterwards.
The Trade Show:
Almost everything we planned (see Newsletter 2) came off, the only absence being Cliff Williams’s eye-and-ear-popping DCC demonstration, which we had to do via YouTube: https://youtu.be/-QMSJXaXD1A https://youtu.be/ULtiAJvJYLE Remember, this engine is 2-rail.
I am most grateful to all who exhibited with us, from the left hand end of the display:
and of course Derek Pollard, whose brainchild this awe-inspiring display was twelve months ago, and who has put most of it together.
Dungeness Siding, built by Steve Cook, courtesy of Cliff Barker:
I'll add more photos as they come in.
Thanks also to the many, many people who came to chat, for all your friendly support.
I’m sorry if you went away more bewildered than when you arrived, but I hope you left with more ‘tools’ for choosing your way or pursuing your dream. There are no right answers in a hobby: if you declare yourself happier with Golf, G-Scale or Girls, that still a Success to me.
I chose not to power-up the mini Wheel Lathe I’d brought, the better to answer questions while keeping my fingers. But I was able to hand people ScaleOne32 wheels side by side with the commercial wheels I’d made them from earlier, and then lift the entire Apparatus with one finger.
