Some very high-contrast dry-brushing work really brought out the extreme contours of the iconic Lon Chaney visage, truly heightening the horrifying gaping expression that terrified me so as a kid, even from across the room.
In many ways, I find this the most intense design of the original Mean 13 kits. The extravagant pose is so theatrical, it is reminiscent of illustrations on 1930s film posters. The dramatic, over-the-top gesture, the Phantom's twisted expression, the creepy catacomb base - all of the elements combining exquisitely to capture a moment of pure horror.
