Liliana Condrache, Kindergarten ”Ciupercuța”, Bucharest, Romania
As part of the final activity of the eTwinning project “1,2,3... Be Healthy!”, the children from the “Ants” Group at “Ciupercuța” Kindergarten in Bucharest held a mini TED Talk adapted to their age, where they enthusiastically and emotionally shared the conclusions they had learned. The little ones spoke about the importance of healthy eating, how carrots, apples, tomatoes, and broccoli are their best friends, and how essential it is to drink water and stay active every day.
The activity was both interactive and moving, and the children delivered a clear message: “A healthy body needs good food, clean water, and lots of play in the fresh air!”

During this activity, students from class 1/3 were first introduced to the concept of a TED Talk, and together we watched an example (Molly Wright – How Every Child Can Thrive by Five). After that, the students talked about the importance of healthy eating and what we have learned through this project. Most of the discussion was conducted in Serbian, as the children are at the beginning stage of learning English.

On May 16th, we had an online meeting from our school library with students from an elementary school in Croatia, the founder of our project.
We exchanged experiences from the project, talked about which activity we enjoyed the most, and discussed whether we improved our knowledge about healthy eating.

PROJECT e Twinning 1,2,3 ...Be Healthy! Activity TED Talk
During this activity, first- and second-grade students were introduced to the concept of a TED Talk for the first time, and together we discussed an example https://www.ted.com/talks/rebeca_hwang_el_valor_de_nuestra_diversidad_interna?utm_campaign=tedspread&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=tedcomshare
Rebeca Hwang was born in Korea, raised in Argentina, and educated in the United States. As someone who has experienced shifting identities, Hwang affirms that, although sometimes challenging, having a diverse identity is actually an advantage. In her talk, she shares how the internal diversity of her identities allows her to make connections with people of all kinds and how these diversities can be used to unite people, not divide them.
Afterward, the students discussed the importance of healthy eating and what we have learned through this project.
