The Ants group is made up of children aged between 5-6 years, they are cheerful and eager to learn new things.

The daily activities prepare the children for social life and we, the teachers, want to teach them how to learn. We focus on interdisciplinary activities at the center of the learning process, being the child.

Skadarlija Elementary School is located in the very center of the city. It opens onto two streets: Skadarska 35 and Francuska 26, with most of the classrooms facing the daytime serenity, quietness and light of Skadarlija, after which the school is named. Due to its location, the school belongs to the bohemian quarter of Skadarska Street known as Skadarlija, which has a strong need for cultural and artistic programs. In the immediate vicinity of the school there are state and national institutions, faculties, secondary schools, preschool institutions, museums, theaters and numerous cultural and historical monuments.

The basic mission of our School is to enable each student to optimally express and develop their abilities and personality traits through compulsory, elective and

 optional classes and a rich offer of extracurricular activities. We want a school that will meet social changes, a school that will focus on a continual internal reform, a school where its students and other users will have the opportunity to meet their various educational needs.

We want an open school that provides attractive educational services for students and all other (young and adult) users. The school has decided to play an active role in the social environment, to listen to its needs and thus achieve the satisfaction of its own needs, in accordance with the interests of its surroundings.

Our school is eco-school symbolized by green flag. We as school, students and community work together to make more sustainable present and future. We reached diamond rank of ecology and we are going higher. We have solar panels for more eco-friendly and budget-friendly electricity. Our goal is not to stop bigger climate changes, it is to prevent climate change from going further. We work together with our recycling centre in Strizivojna.

Osnovnoškolsko školovanje u Svetom Križu Začretju započelo je prije više od 185 godina. Župnik Ivan Bradica poslao je zahtjev za otvaranjem škole Županijskoj skupštini u Varaždinu, te je ona, nakon četverogodišnjih priprema, otvorena 1838. godine. Prva prava školska zgrada otvorena je 1914. godine u samom centru mjesta, a godine 1974. sagrađena je nova školska zgrada koja je uvrštena u „Enciklopediju hrvatske umjetnosti“ kao građevina od osobite važnosti za arhitekturu. 2015. godine škola je ušla u pilot projekt “e-Škole: Razvoj sustava digitalne zrelosti škola” te smo postali prva osnovna e-škola u Krapinsko-zagorskoj županiji. Uz matičnu školu rade i dvije područne škole u Sekirišću i Mirkovcu. U matičnoj školi nalazi se 17 učionica, sve učionice opremljene su projektorima, pametnim pločama ili interaktivnim ekranima. U školi se nalazi i moderna knjižnica s pametnom pločom i projektorom. Blagovaonica je smještena u predvorju škole koje služi i za održavanje školskih priredbi. Uz dvoranu za tjelesno-zdravstvenu kulturu imamo dva igrališta za rukomet i nogomet. U školi je organiziran i produženi boravak za učenike prvih, drugih i trećih razreda. U prostorima škole su stalne postave izložbi naših Svetokrišćana, akademskog slikara Ivice Lovrenčića i karikaturiste Rudija Stipkovića. U školi je zaposleno 59 djelatnika, od toga 41 učitelja, a ove školske godine imamo 421 učenika. Učitelji i učenici su motivirani za rad i otvoreni za nova iskustva. Škola sudjeluje u brojnim projektima, a dobili smo i niz priznanja, nagrada, plaketa i povelja za rezultate postignute u odgoju i obrazovanju učenika. Primary schooling in Sveti Križ Začretje began more than 185 years ago. Pastor Ivan Bradica sent a request for the opening of the school to the County Assembly in Varaždin. After four years of preparation the school was established in 1838. The first school building was opened in 1914 in the center of the town, and in 1974 a new school building was build which was included in the "Encyclopedia of Croatian Art" as a building of special importance for architecture. In 2015, the school entered the “eSchools: Establishing a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools“ pilot project and became the first primary e-school in Krapina-Zagorje County. In addition to the primary school, there are two satellite schools in Sekirišće and Mirkovec. There are 17 classrooms in the school, all classrooms are equipped with projectors, smart boards or interactive screens. There is a modern library with a smart board and projector. The dining room is located in the school lobby, which is also used for school events. In addition to the gym, there are two playgrounds for handball and football. The school also organizes an extended stay for students of the first, second and third grades. In the school premises there are permanent exhibitions of local artists, academic painter Ivica Lovrenčić and caricaturist Rudi Stipković. There are 59 employees, of which 41 are teachers, and in this school year there are 421 pupils. Teachers and pupils are motivated to work and open to new experiences. The school participates in numerous projects, and we have received a number of recognitions, awards, plaques and charters for the results achieved in the education of pupils. 

In line with the aims of Turkish National Education, we are a school that aims to raise socially compatible and productive individuals who have acquired the knowledge and skills required by the age.
