COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Attending community college for the first two years is not only cost-effective, but it allows a transitional period for those students who are looking for it. Students who are looking for a community college option, but still want to venture further out, there is the option of attending a community college outside of Essex County (there is additional cost).

COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL

Cosmetology schools opens the door for those students who wish to express their creativity through makeup, hair, skincare, and other avenues pertaining to beauty. TECHNICAL SCHOOL

Technical schools allow students to learn a specific, high-demand trade so that they are fully equipped to enter the workforce. Students are taught through hands-on learning and often times, these schools provide help in their students' job search.

Joining the U.S. Armed Forces is a noble decision that some students choose to make right after graduating high school. The 5 branches of the Armed Forces include the Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Navy, & Coastguard. The Armed Forces can also be an option for those students who do not want the financial burden of college down the road, as often times, the Armed Forces will pay students' tuition costs.

GAP YEAR


Some students choose to take a year/semester off from school after graduating high school. For those students, this website can be a helpful tool.

These enriching programs provide students with experiences they normally wouldn't receive from traditional 2 or 4 year colleges/universities. These experiences can be very helpful when moving on to enter the workforce.
