Each student in Grade 9 will receive a District provided Chromebook.
If a student in grades 10-12 does not already have a District provided Chromebook, please contact the high school main office at (973) 571-2029 extension 1010 so that we may assist.
As per the BOE-approved procedures, all parents are required to pay the Chromebook insurance fee for their District issued Chromebook. See Details Below.
Freshmen Chromebook Distribution:
We will distribute the Chromebooks to the Freshmen class and other new students in homeroom on the first day of school.

We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer and finding time to relax with family and friends. The start of the school year is right around the corner, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone back on campus soon!
For the purpose of convenience, this year we are collecting the required annual Chromebook insurance fee through MySchoolBucks, the same secure system you may already use to pay cafeteria fees.
This $23 insurance fee is required for all students and provides protection in the event that your child’s Chromebook is damaged. Considering the frequency of use and the amount of travel each device will experience during the school year, accidental damage is not uncommon. This coverage ensures that repairs or replacements can be handled quickly and at no additional cost to you.
As this fee is required, we ask that payment be submitted prior to the beginning of the school year. In the unfortunate situation that payment is not received prior to October 1st, your access to Genesis may be limited until payment is received. If anyone is experiencing difficulty with payment, please contact Mr. Cogdill or Mr. Merkler — we will be happy to assist you.
If you already have a MySchoolBucks account, you will see the fee listed there. Please note that online payments will include a small merchant fee.
If you prefer to pay by check, simply send your payment to my office, and we will record it in the MySchoolBucks system for you. To ensure the payment is applied correctly, please include your child’s school ID on the check. This 6-digit number can be found in the Genesis Parent Portal.
