Verona High School Welcome Back Letter 2026-2027

Dear VHS Students and Families,

I hope you have had a restful, enjoyable summer filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends.

It is with great excitement that we welcome you back to Verona High School for the 2026-2027 school year! Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another year, we are excited to begin a new chapter together. Our faculty and staff have been hard at work preparing for the year ahead, and we cannot wait to welcome our students back into the building.

Attached to this email is the 2026-2027 Verona High School Student Handbook. While it contains the policies and procedures that help guide our school community, it is much more than that. This year's handbook also includes a series of easy-to-read infographics covering many of the most important topics students and families need to know, including attendance, grading, technology expectations, school safety, the Learning Commons, parking, athletics, graduation requirements, and much more. We encourage every student and parent/guardian to review the handbook together before the first day of school.

In addition, please take a few moments to review the helpful back-to-school information available on the Verona High School website. Be sure to check for summer reading assignments, summer coursework, and any additional information specific to your courses.

Please remember that the first day of school is Wednesday, September 2, 2026, with classes beginning promptly at 8:15 AM. Chamber Choir will begin meeting on Thursday, September 3.

I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to our teachers, administrative assistants, custodial and maintenance staff, technology department, Student Care Associates, and everyone else who worked throughout the summer to prepare our building for another outstanding school year. Their efforts ensure that Verona High School is ready to welcome students on day one.

Finally, I encourage every student to get involved. Whether through athletics, clubs, the arts, service organizations, or student leadership opportunities, becoming an active member of our school community is one of the best ways to make the most of your high school experience. I also encourage families to become involved through the School and Community Association (SCA), whose support benefits countless programs and opportunities for our students.

We are proud of the community we have built at Verona High School, and we look forward to another year of learning, growth, and achievement together.
