Getting Started with Common Sense Curriculum
If you are new to using Common Sense Media Lessons, here are some helpful resources
Accessing the Lesson Resources
You must be logged in to Common Sense to access the lessons resources and details. Accounts are free and only you, as the teacher will need an account.
Go to https://www.commonsense.org/education/user/register?destination=node/4134521 to create a new account. It is best to use your @venturacoe.net account, since that is the account you use to work with students.
Navigating the Site
You can click on any of the links on OUR SITE to go directly to each lesson. However, you can also get to the lessons by going to https://www.commonsense.org/education/ Make sure you are on the For Educators Tab (1). Click on Digital Citizenship (2) then choose Lesson Plans (3).
Quick Activities are "Watch and Reflect" 15 minute activities that student can do on their own or with parent/teacher support.

Lesson Plan Overview with estimated time to teach
Ability to print/save as PDF all the resources in one file
Detailed directions and suggestions for each part of the lesson

Teaching Digital Citizenship Training
Ready to get started teaching digital citizenship? This one-hour interactive online training will introduce everything you need to teach digital citizenship. At the end of the training, you'll complete a survey and receive an email confirming your course completion. This training will take approximately one hour to complete.
