In 1970, the Vassar chapter of PYE (Protect Your Environment) organized a series of events centered around the environment and conservation. Lectures and a movie screening built up to a National Teach-In on April 22 - the first observance of Earth Day.
2020 marks the fiftieth anniversary of Earth Day. The Climate Crisis is a greater concern than ever before. There's never been a more important time for the Vassar community to come together in support of a more sustainable future.
For the month of April, Vassar's Office of Sustainability is hosting a Virtual Earth Month. We'll be offering opportunities to participate in campus sustainability efforts from a distance, from a self-guided scavenger hunt to a nationwide virtual teach-in. More details about our plans for the month can be found in this recent news release.
This site will be updated throughout the next month, so please check back frequently or subscribe to our Virtual Earth Month newsletter for updates all month long.
