A little about Mr. Wagoner

Ryan Wagoner is a born and raised Pacific Northwest resident who has lived in three cities in Washington State: Longview, Pullman (go cougs), and Vancouver. It was during his 10th grade year that Ryan realized he wanted to work in education, specifically as a math teacher, because of the influential educators he interacted with during his k-12 days in Longview Public Schools.

Once he graduated from Mark Morris High School, Ryan accessed post-secondary schooling at Lower Columbia College, and then onto WSU where he majored in mathematics with teaching credentials. He was also part of the WSU water polo team where he competed against other northwest schools.

After completing his undergrad, Ryan applied for teaching positions within the local school districts, and eventually landed at Skyview High School where he taught, math lab, algebra, geometry, and honors algebra two. During his time at Skyview, Ryan decided to embark on another educational opportunity; the Masters in School Counseling at City University. He graduated in 2012, and, in the 2016-2017 school year, was brought on as a school counselor at Alki Middle School. He also has taught mathematics at Hudson's Bay (2008-2009) and Fort Vancouver High School (2013-2016), and completed his counseling internship at Columbia River High School under the late Lou Gill.

Ryan currently resides in Vancouver with his wife, Sarah, and young son, Mason. He enjoys going to Timbers soccer matches, weightlifting, neighborhood walks, and anywhere that serves a good dish of Mexican food.
