The purpose of Valorous Academy’s uniform and dress code policy is to maintain an atmosphere of modesty, unity, and prestige. Valorous Academy expects students to dress appropriately for school and for the season. All clothing items should be an appropriate size for the student. Official Valorous tops will be worn for all school activities unless otherwise announced by the administration.
Important Note: Valorous Academy logos, names, fonts, and official branding are trademarked and may not be copied, altered, reproduced, or used without written permission from school administration. Official Valorous Academy uniform and athletics items must be purchased through approved school vendors or the school office. Items produced, customized, or purchased from unapproved sources are not permitted as part of the school dress code.
The administration will be the final judge on any item in question concerning dress and appearance. If a student is found to be in violation of the dress code the student will, at the teacher or administrator’s discretion, receive a behavior notice. They will be sent to change; if they do not have a suitable replacement item, the parent will be contacted to bring the student a replacement item. The student may remain in the school office until a replacement item has been provided and the student has changed.
All items worn should be clean, in good condition, and an appropriate size for the student.
No items of clothing or accessories may be worn which feature imagery, words, or phrases that are vulgar, obscene, profane, sexually suggestive, illegal activities, against biblical morals, or are related to drinking, smoking, or drugs.
3K and 4K: Students are not required to wear a Valorous Academy top. 3K and 4K students also may wear bottoms the color of their choice. These students do not participate in Dress Down Fridays. All other dress code rules apply to 3K and 4K students.

Clothing worn on Dress Down Fridays must still follow other dress code rules. Participating in Dress Down Friday is optional; students who do not wish to pay $2 to participate must wear their regular school uniform.
If a Friday is not to be a Dress Down Friday, the school will announce this to families on Class Dojo at least three days in advance.

Teachers may decide to have students remove hats in their classrooms.
Special Dress Days
Throughout the school year, Valorous Academy may designate special dress days, such as Spirit Week, themed dress days, awareness days, holiday events, field trip attire, or other school-approved activities.
Specific guidelines for each special dress day will be communicated by the school in advance. Students who choose to participate must follow the theme or instructions provided. Students who do not wish to participate should wear regular uniform attire. All special dress day outfits must remain modest, appropriate for school, and consistent with the values of Valorous Academy. Shoes and accessories must be safe and appropriate for the school day.
Administration reserves the right to determine whether an outfit is appropriate. Students who do not follow the guidelines may be asked to change, call home for a change of clothes, or return to regular dress code attire. Students and parents are encouraged to contact the school office in advance if they are unsure whether an item is appropriate for a special dress day.
All students must wear their Valorous Academy uniforms and follow the dress code during extracurricular activities, unless otherwise stated by the administration.
Exceptions are made for athletic activities during which athletes must wear their school-approved sport uniform or dress-out gear, and for dress rehearsals during which participants must wear costumes or formal wear.

Examples of events that may require special attire include Beta Club induction ceremonies, banquets, SCISA field trips or competitions, student council events, ceremonies, performances, and other school-sponsored activities.
Students are expected to follow the dress guidelines provided for each event. All clothing must remain modest, appropriate, and consistent with the values of Valorous Academy.
