Mr. Clarkson's 6th Grade keyboarding classes primarily use Typing Club for practice, progress, and testing. Students may login through our Sage Valley Portal. Below are links to other useful typing practice websites.
The Sage Valley Middle School goal for 6th grade students is 30 words per minute minimum (wpm), 35 wpm or more with very high accuracy for an A grade.
Tuesday classes include an overview of computer usage, computer hardware, applications, standard shortcuts, standard formatting, and other in computer basics.
Thursday Classes offer the students opportunity to explore the basics of computer coding through the use of several online introductions to coding.
Students are also graded on their classroom performance. See the student performance plan.
Parents Take Note: Students may access nearly all of the class materials from any computer anywhere in the world (even at home). The student must first login to their Google Classroom for this class and then go to https://sage-valley-middle-school-jc.typingclub.com/portal or other material from the classroom. Daily assignments are available on classroom and on the calendar page.
