The unarmed drill team is a NJROTC team centered around standard naval marching. Like other teams, cadets on the unarmed drill team have the opportunity to travel across various cities and states, depending on their performance at qualifying meets. The team performs two separate routines: exhibition and regulation. Exhibition is a freestyle routine created and perfected by both previous and current cadets on the team, while regulation is the standard naval marching. A core value of drill is the success of the team as a whole, rather than a focus on the individual, which fosters a strong community and bond between both the Armed and Unarmed teams. With a platoon size of 11-14 cadets, drill is not only the largest team but also a proud staple of the unit
Hello I’m C/ENS Polanco, captain of the unarmed drill team and this is my 3rd year on the team. My goal this year is to help foster the next generation of new leaders through discipline and hard work.
