First is the main volume of your PC which is located in the bottom right of your taskbar next to the date and time.
The next volume level you need to check is the volume bar on the media player you are using. If you are playing on Windows Media Player, VLC Media Player, or a video on YouTube, make sure you check the volume on those players.
If you have a Front Row Touch Panel that controls the projector in your room, tap the volume button on the panel as well
Are all of your volume levels on all your players and devices up?
If you are not hearing any sound, check your PC speaker settings.
Click on the speaker icon located at the bottom right of your taskbar
Select the triangle on the right
The speaker that is currently selected is highlighted
If you have another speaker option show up above what is highlighted, click on that different speaker input and try testing your sound again
Make sure your volume is up and make sure you have some sort of audio playing when you test it. If you are still getting no sound at all, select a different speaker input and try again.
The speaker icon is a simple way of switching audio inputs from one to the other. However, here's a different way of testing your sound and ensuring that it's set as the primary audio source.
Type "Control Panel"
Click on "Control Panel"
Click on "Hardware and Sound"
Click on "Sound"
You will see a list of your audio devices
*Your speaker list may differ from what is displayed*
Right click a different audio device and click "Test"
If you hear sound, right click again and select "Set as Default Device"
Sometimes we've received tickets where the PC volume is all the way up, the volume on the video player is all the way up, but for some reason, the volume is still not quite loud enough.
We have found that there are times where you may need to turn up the volume on your Front Row Classroom Control Panel. It seems to "jump start" the speaker system and brings the audio back to appropriate levels.
If you need a 3.5mm Aux cable, request a Technology Specialist for assistance.
If you are using the Epson iProjection App, depending on the school and classroom, you may find that the audio may not play out of the in-celling speakers.
We have found that in some cases, the Epson iProjection app bypasses the Front Row system and connects to the projector directly. This causes the audio to come out of the projector instead of the in-ceiling speakers. However, a way around this is to plug in a 3.5mm Aux cable from your laptop to the Front Row Wall Plate to use your in-ceiling speakers.
Watching videos through wireless internet will work, for sure. However, you may experience times where the audio doesn't appear 100% in sync. An example of this is audio not lining up with the mouth of a person that is talking in a video. The only way to fix this is to directly plug your computer to the Front Row Wall Plate with an HDMI cable.
