Together, the HDMI and USB A/B connections provide a full interactive experience—visual, audio, and touch-enabled—for enhanced classroom engagement.
Note: Classroom setups may vary. Please take a moment to review your specific space to see what equipment and connections are available.

HDMI – High Definition Multimedia Interface
HDMI cables combine both video and audio into a single connection. They are commonly used with HD TVs, Blu-ray players, gaming consoles (like Xbox and PlayStation), as well as computers, monitors, and projectors.
In the classroom, connecting an HDMI cable from your computer to the Front Row wall plate allows you to:
Display your computer screen through the projector
Play audio through the in-ceiling classroom speakers
USB A/B – Universal Serial Bus
The USB A/B cable enables touch functionality between your computer and the projector. This connection allows you to:
Use the projector pens (or your finger) to control your computer
Interact with the display directly on the whiteboard, just like a touchscreen
For the best results, we recommend placing your desk and computer near two key wall plates:
An Ethernet port for direct internet access
An HDMI port to connect to the classroom projector
Most standard cables are approximately six feet long, so setting up near these ports allows for a simple plug-and-play experience—delivering the fastest and most stable video and internet connections for your computer.
If you prefer to place your desk further from the wall plates, you have two options:
Request longer cables
Work with your department or site administrator to order the appropriate cable lengths.
Don’t forget to request cable protectors to prevent tripping hazards
Go wireless and ditch cables entirely
Use the Epson iProjection app to connect your device to the projector without cables
