Google Slides has many functions that make it an amazing tool for educators. I have included a few samples of Google Slides projects that I created to show some of the different ways that this tool can be utilized.
Simple Slideshow
Fundamentally, Google Slides can be used to make basic slideshow presentations. I included a simple presentation that I made for an assignment in a math course. This is an example of the basic functions of Google Slides, including changing font sizes, inserting pictures and videos, and changing the background. The great thing about Google Slides is that there are so many other possibilities in creating presentations than just a simple slideshow!
Hyperlinked Slideshow
This is an informative slideshow about the seven continents. I used hyperlinks to connect all of the slides, which makes it easy to navigate. Students can click on a continent on the first slide and be taken to a slide with information about that continent. They can easily return to the "home page" by clicking the home icon in the bottom right corner of the page they are on. On each continent's slide I included a short, educational video about the continent, a map of the continent, and an image from a location on the continent.
Peardeck Integration
This presentation uses Peardeck to make it an interactive activity with students. When I start the presentation, students would be able to join and go through the presentation at their own pace. There is a question for them to answer on each slide of the fifty states, asking them what the capital of that state is. I included a video before the questions so the students could review the capitals before answering the questions. I would use something like this as a review activity.
