The UWC CHS Wellness Centre was officially opened and established May 2024 as a student-led wellness centre bridging the gap between interprofessional learning and community well-being. Founded by the students of The University of the Western Cape, the centre was created to provide accessible, compassionate and evidence-based care to the underserviced individuals of the community. Through the creative and collaborative effort between the centre's team and the students and completely funded by the university, the centre has been able to grow with each new rotation of students. Making it possible to provide services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social services, dietetics and nutrition, and traditional Chinese medicine to make a meaningful impact in the community.
Our Wellness Centre is continuously growing and improving.

Since its inception, the Wellness Centre has made significant strides in delivering high-quality, student-led care to the community. Through dedicated teamwork, innovation, and community engagement, we’ve expanded our services, improved patient outcomes, and continued to improve the operation and aesthetics of the centre. However, as the needs of our community continue to evolve, so too must our centre. There still remain many opportunities for growth, which we are excited to continue.
