Based on our flow chart we created our tutor screens to navigate as such:
Users begin by signing in with their UW NetID to securely access the TutorMatch platform and connect with tutoring resources.
In this part, users select to join as a tutor, allowing the platform to provide features and recommendations tailored to their role. During testing, participants were sometimes unsure whether they were using the app as a student or a tutor. This screen clearly separates the two experiences.
Tutors create their profiles by adding the subjects they teach, their teaching styles, and their availability. This information helps students find a tutor who best matches their learning needs and make learning feel more personalized.
Tutors can manage session requests, review upcoming appointments, track student activity, and monitor their tutoring performance from a centralized dashboard. We decided to do this because Tutors need an organized space to manage multiple students and sessions efficiently.
Tutors can also message their students, allowing them to confirm attendance and communicate with them prior to the session. This allows students and tutors to be on the same page, allowing for a smooth experience.
Students and tutors meet through an interactive online session that includes video communication, a shared whiteboard, and AI-powered learning assistance. As many students struggle to attend in-person office hours due to various reasons, this alternative allows for a flexible online learning environment.
