I am a structural biologist fascinated by the mechanisms through which biological systems operate at the molecular level. I graduated from the University of Warsaw, where I completed a biotechnology programme with a specialisation in molecular biology. During this time, I developed a strong interest in protein activity and the mechanisms that regulate protein function. Motivated to understand these processes at a deeper, structural level, I pursued doctoral studies in structural biology and obtained my PhD from the University of Cambridge. My research there focused on structure-function relationships of proteins involved in post-transcriptional gene regulation in bacteria
In 2021, I returned to Poland as a recipient of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Widening Fellowship (Horizon 2020) and shifted my research focus toward RNA metabolism in human mitochondria. My current research interests center on RNA as a versatile and multifunctional molecule, RNA-binding proteins, and the cooperative mechanisms by which RNA and proteins coordinate complex and tightly regulated cellular processes.
