Once a New Hire completes the onboarding process completely, and has made it through the probation period, they will be certified as a "Buddy" and will be able to help other New Hires through the onboarding process.
Your supervisor will assign you to be someone's "buddy" to help New Hires through the process to becoming an AC. Below you will find helpful tips for being a Buddy.
You can use this form on Teams to track the New Hires' progress:
...you will want to make sure that you have communicated everything effectively. Where should they park? What should they wear? What time are they supposed to be in the office? The supervisor will communicate this information to the new hire, and it is the Buddy's job to follow up with the New Hire, prior to their first day, to make sure they have all the information they need to start. You can do this via email. Here are some things to help the Buddy get ready for the New Hire:
Create an agenda for the New Hire based on the "Welcome to Your First Week" document and the HR Onboarding checklist
Make sure that their workstation is clean and ready for them to use. If they are missing anything, make sure you check with the supervisor about getting whatever they need before they start,
Email out helpful information prior to their start date.
...you will be the owner of the New Hire's schedule. You will have everything planned so that they will get the most out of their time. You can follow the "Welcome to Your First Week" schedule, or create your own! Either way, they will have to complete everything that is written out in the first week schedule. Here are some things to help you and the New Hire get through their first week:

Make sure their is time for them to debrief with their supervisor about their onboarding process.
...are an important time for New Hires. There are plenty of trainings, professional development, etc. that can help the New Hire get ahead. We want to set them up for success, so make sure they know they can come to you with whatever questions they may have. Here are some tips to help the New Hire through their first 90 days:
Show them the additional trainings they will need to complete (including professional development),
Have them shadow ACs as they start getting familiar with the job. For example, have them attend a UHED presentation with another AC so they can figure out how to set up their equipment, presenting, and what a UHED looks like,
Make sure that the New Hire knows that their feedback is valuable. Encourage them to share their thoughts and opinions during meetings, or even one on one with their supervisor,
