Students who only have access to a mobile phone will log in to Canvas today to activate their Canvas accounts.

The activation step is a very important and should not be delayed until the school laptop arrives. Completing the first two activities in the Student Training course will activate the account and will satisfy an important step that allows UVA to request and receive school records from your child's previous school by the end of the month.
Refer to the instructions on this page from the beginning until the end. Otherwise, you will go too far in the Student Training course and start completing activities that are not designed for a mobile phone.
We appreciate your timely cooperation and attention to the instructions below.
STEP 1. Log in to the Student's Canvas account
If you are not logged in already, log into the student's account. Refer to the appropriate page for a refresher on how to log in to the student's account:
STEP 2. Locate the Student Training course card
Scroll past any announcements on the Home page of the student's Canvas account, and look for a course card that says "Student Training."
STEP 3. Open the "Student Training" course
Click once on the ""Student Training card to open the course.
Course card screenshots are shown for all three school levels -- Elementary, Middle, and High School -- in the screenshot. Only one Student Training course card will be on the student's Home page.
STEP 4. Scroll down and click the button that says, "I'm just starting at UVA!"
The button is just below the UVA logo and Lynx mascot on the page.

STEP 5. Complete the first two activities in the Student Training course and stop there. (It is important that you stop after completing the second activity. The remaining activities must be completed on a computer. They cannot be performed on a mobile phone. The laptop is on its way.)
You have completed as much as you can on a mobile phone. Thank you for completing the first two assignments. The laptop will arrive later today or tomorrow. (At this point, the Learning Coach is asked to contact the Learning Coach Support team to notify them that you went as far as you could in the course at this point and to request the tracking number of the laptop.)

When the laptop arrives, resume the onboarding course on the page "Prepare Your Device." That page explains how to access this course on a computer.
