Log into the student's Canvas account.
Get the student's Pairing Code as follows:
Click the three-bar menu in the upper left-hand corner of the window to open Canvas' navigation menu.
Click Account.
Click Settings.
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click the Pair With Observer button.
Write down the Pairing Code carefully.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for every additional student that needs to be paired so you will have all of the pairing codes for the next step. Be sure to write down each number carefully.
4. Log in to your Observer account if you are not logged in already. Then open the navigation menu by clicking the three-bar menu in the upper left hand corner of the window. (Circled in the screenshot)
5. Click Observing
6. Pair the student (look at the screenshot)
a. Type the pairing code in the Student Pairing Code field.
b. Click the + Student button.
7. Repeat the pairing step for any additional students. You are finished with this page when you see the names of all the students you are supposed to observe as the Learning Coach. Scroll down and click NEXT to continue.
IMPORTANT!
If you see the name of a student that you should not be observing, please contact the Learning Coach Support team immediately. We will remove the student from your account.
If you did not complete the Student Training course in Canvas earlier in Phase II, please do that now. The course is available in your Observer account. Just follow the instructions to access the training here.
