When you are standing on a level on the Yggdrasil, just how far can you see before the curve of the level cuts off your line-of-sight?
Dr. Lindsay Commentary: Life on the Yggdrasil comes with some interesting changes to our everyday experiences. One big one is the lack of open skies and a distant horizon. With the habitat rings broken into 41 levels, each of which is 25 meters tall, your view of the "outside" world is quite alien. If you are in the middle of a level, you have have solid walls 225 meters to either side of you. Looking ahead and behind, you see the floor curving upward. The floor gently rises up, and eventually your view will be cut off by the ceiling of the lower level "above" you. What a strange view! Based on experiences in the Earth simulators, many Drasilians report a deep feeling of discomfort and fear when exposed to open horizons and open blue skies.
