Gaby's work is influenced by an understanding of the systemic racism and oppression embedded in Austin's geography and past and present histories of displacement, such as the rapid gentrification of her hometown today.
Gaby is a current ambassador for both Austin Water and the City of Austin's Sustainability Office. She is a graduate research assistant and project coordinator for the PrEP For All Project at the Dell Medical School's Pride Health Lab. Gaby is also a quad-chair for the Cities Connecting Children to Nature Network's Youth Leadership Working Group, housed under Austin's Parks and Recreation Department.
Gaby's climate work includes editing The Winter Storm Anthology, an anthology serving as a platform for stories of Austin's Winter Storm Uri, and as a fundraiser for local organizations working to address climate inequities.
