A initiative of the UT Austin Jackson School of Geosciences, GeoFORCE introduces GEAR UP students to geological wonders across the U.S. Led by Jackson School professors, research scientists, and industry professionals, the academies include in-class coursework and hands-on fieldwork. Each summer, students explore a different U.S. region and learn about Earth's formation and geological processes.
Students are eligible to apply for this opportunity in their 8th grade year.
If selected, the GEAR UP students will remain part of a GeoFORCE cohort that will participate in ongoing experiences every summer leading up to their senior year of high school.
