The summer programming offered by UT Austin GEAR UP are free for students participating in our active grants. These opportunities are exclusively for GEAR UP students. All of the summer programs offered have a competitive application process or based strictly on nominations from your teachers. Please read each programming page in detail to see if you are eligible for the camp. If you are still unsure, your campus GEAR UP Coordinator will be able to help.
Check back January 2027 to see available opportunities or talk to your campus' UTGU coordinator!
Aside from the summer camps that The Institute for Public School Initiative sponsors, your school district will bring in various opportunities for students to attend at their school!
Not only do these opportunities take place during the summer, but your student will also participate in these amazing experiences throughout the school year.
If you want to hear more about upcoming events, get in contact with your student's GEAR UP Coordinator. You can reach them by calling your student's school and asking to be transferred to the GEAR UP room phone number. You can also contact them through email or text message!
Check out the home page and see if your school district and grade level is on the list. Next, find your GEAR UP coordinator on campus so they can verify if you are a part of the cohort.
