Full Licentiate degree in Physical Education at the University of São Paulo (1973), Master in Education – Hiroshima University (1978), Doctor in Education – Hiroshima University (1982), Post-doctoral in Psychology – University of Sheffield (1995) and Post-doctoral in Physical Education – Hiroshima University (1996). Currently a Full Professor at the School of Physical Education and Sport at the University of São Paulo, was also Dean of the School of Physical Education and Sport, Director of the Sports Practices Center – USP, and Scientific Area Representative at the Coordination of Superior Level Staff Improvement (CAPES) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Received the title of Honorary Citizen of Porto – Portugal, Porto City of Science, in July 2011.
Research Interests: Motor Learning, School Physical Education and Epistemological Basis of Physical Education and Sport.
