The Motor Behavior Laboratory (Laboratório de Comportamento Motor - LACOM) of the School of Physical Education and Sport of the University of São Paulo was founded in 1988 by Professor Go Tani, PhD.

It is one of the most traditional laboratories in the area of Motor Behavior in Brazil, providing academic training to Master and Doctorate graduate students who established research laboratories in other renowned universities across the country.

Currently, LACOM brings together eight researchers, with different expertises, who complement each other to investigate human motor behavior in the areas of:

    • Motor Control - Mechanisms responsible for movement generation

    • Motor Learning - Processes underlying the changes that occur due to practice

    • Motor Development - Changes in motor behavior in a lifecycle time-frame

    • Teaching and Learning - Connecting academic-scientific knowledge to professional performance undertakings in Physical Education and related areas
