L'Université Senghor est une organisation internationale, opérateur direct de la Francophonie, créée en 1989 par décision des chefs d'État et de gouvernement ayant le français en partage, lors du Sommet de Dakar. Son siège est à Alexandrie, en Égypte, et sa mission est de former, en français, des cadres créatifs capables de relever les défis du développement durable en Afrique et en Haïti.
Avec un réseau d'environ 350 professeurs et experts de toute la Francophonie, ainsi que des collaborations avec de grandes institutions nationales et internationales, l'Université délivre des programmes de formation d'excellence adaptés au contexte africain, à Alexandrie, ainsi que dans ses 14 autres campus en Afrique et en Europe.
L'Université Senghor propose ainsi une trentaine de programmes de master. La plupart d'entre eux sont des programmes de gestion de projets dans quatre grands domaines d'action qui structurent l'Université en autant de départements : Culture, Environnement, Management et Santé.
Les formations courtes de l'Université Senghor accueillent environ 1000 auditeurs par an.
Par ses programmes de formation et sa mission générale, l'Université Senghor contribue à tous les objectifs du développement durable.
En 2023, l’Université dispose d’un réseau de plus de 3700 alumni.

De la Pierre au Papier, du Papier au Numérique
L'Université Senghor à Alexandrie en Égypte organise, du 5 au 7 novembre 2024, la troisième édition du Colloque international "De la pierre au papier, du papier au numérique” avec appel à communications sur le sous-thème "Le patrimoine culturel africain maritime, fluvial et lacustre : définition d’une déclaration de valeur culturelle".
Cette troisième édition du colloque PPPN met au centre des réflexions, la thématique de l’eau et de sa patrimonialisation en interrogeant en particulier le lien entre patrimoine et culture maritime, fluviale et lacustre.
Alors, quelle est la part du patrimoine culturel lié à l’eau dans la culture africaine ? La tribune d’échanges que constitue le PPPN va, à travers des études de cas et des réflexions méthodologiques dans chaque domaines visés (monuments, objets d’art, bibliothèque, archives et numérisation), éclairer les participants sur les meilleures pratiques d’une conservation durable du patrimoine de l’eau comme le veut la Convention de l’UNESCO de 2001 sur la protection et la préservation du patrimoine culturel subaquatique.
Cet appel à communications s’inscrit dans la continuité des deux précédentes sessions du colloque PPPN « De la pierre au papier, du papier au numérique » qui s’inscrivent dans une évolution chronologique et thématique des modes de conservation et de diffusion des œuvres humaines du passé.
Provenant principalement du monde francophone, les personnes invitées à répondre à cet appel à communication sont des experts de l'Afrique et du monde arabe dans le domaine du patrimoine écrit et documentaire (bibliothèques, publiques et privées et archives) et du numérique dans le cadre de la sauvegarde patrimoniale, des décideurs économiques et politiques, des chercheurs et des universitaires, des gestionnaires, des étudiants ainsi que les personnes intéressées du secteur public, privé et de la société civile désireux de prendre part aux travaux du Colloque.

Senghor University is an international organization, a direct operator of the Francophonie, created in 1989 by decision of the heads of state and government sharing French, during the Dakar Summit. Its headquarters is in Alexandria, Egypt, and its mission is to train, in French, creative executives capable of meeting the challenges of sustainable development in Africa and Haiti.
With a network of around 350 professors and experts from across the Francophonie, as well as collaborations with major national and international institutions, the University delivers training programs of excellence adapted to the African context, in Alexandria, as well as in its 14 other campuses in Africa and Europe.
Senghor University offers around thirty master's programs. Most of them are project management programs in four major areas of action which structure the University into as many departments: Culture, Environment, Management and Health.
The short courses at Senghor University welcome around 1,000 listeners per year.
Through its training programs and its general mission, Senghor University contributes to all the objectives of sustainable development.
In 2023, the University will have a network of more than 3,700 alumni.

From Stone to Paper, From Paper to Digital
Senghor University in Alexandria, Egypt, is organizing from November 5 to 7, 2024, the third edition of the international conference “From stone to paper, from paper to digital” with a call for papers on the sub-theme “African maritime cultural heritage , fluvial and lake: definition of a statement of cultural value".
This third edition of the PPPN conference places at the center of reflections the theme of water and its heritage by questioning in particular the link between heritage and maritime, river and lake culture.
So, what is the share of cultural heritage linked to water in African culture? The forum for exchange that constitutes the PPPN will enlighten participants on the best practices of a sustainable conservation of water heritage as required by the 2001 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Preservation of Underwater Cultural Heritage, through case studies and methodological reflections in each targeted area (monuments, objects of art, library, archives and digitization).
This call for papers is a continuation of the two previous sessions of the PPPN conference "From stone to paper, from paper to digital" which are part of a chronological and thematic evolution of the methods of conservation and dissemination of human works of the pass.
Coming mainly from the French-speaking world, the people invited to respond to this call for papers are experts from Africa and the Arab world in the field of written and documentary heritage (libraries, public and private and archives) and digital within the framework heritage preservation, economic and political decision-makers, researchers and academics, managers, students as well as interested people from the public, private sector and civil society wishing to take part in the work of the Conference.
