L'Université Senghor à Alexandrie en Égypte organise, du 28 au 30 novembre 2022, la seconde édition du Colloque international avec appel à communications "De la pierre au papier, du papier au numérique” avec le sous-thème : “Quels moyens de sauvegarde de l'écrit ? "
Senghor University in Alexandria, Egypt, is organizing, from 28 to 30 November 2022, the second edition of the International symposium with a call for papers "From stone to paper, from paper to digital" with the sub-theme: "what means of safeguarding the writing? "
Le nombre élevé de manuscrits et documents, principalement en langue arabe, ‘adjamie, persane et swahilie, et la multiplication des projets de conservation et des sujets d’études, constituent autant d’outils au service d’une pensée critique de la culture africaine, dans ses diverses composantes religieuses, historiques, juridiques ou géographiques.Un cadre de protection insuffisant de ces collections, ajouté à un potentiel économique encore sous-exploité, peine à préserver le patrimoine écrit et endiguer le pillage qui touche les pays du Sud. Face à cette réalité, le numérique peut-il constituer une solution de sauvegarde du patrimoine écrit en péril ?
The large number of manuscripts and documents, mainly in Arabic, 'adjamy, Persian and Swahili, and the multiplication of conservation projects and subjects of study, constitute as many tools at the service of a critical thinking of the African culture, in its various religious, historical, legal or geographical components. An insufficient protection framework for these collections, added to an economic potential that is still under-exploited, makes it difficult to preserve the written heritage and stem the plundering that affects the countries of the South. Faced with this reality, can digital technology constitute a solution for safeguarding endangered written heritage?

Provenant principalement du monde francophone, les personnes invitées à répondre à cet appel à participation sont des experts de l'Afrique et du monde arabe dans le domaine du patrimoine écrit et documentaire (bibliothèques, publiques et privées et archives) et du numérique dans le cadre de la sauvegarde patrimoniale, des décideurs économiques et politiques, des chercheurs et des universitaires, des gestionnaires, des étudiants ainsi que les personnes intéressées du secteur public, privé et de la société civile désireux de prendre part aux travaux du Colloque
Coming mainly from the French-speaking world, the people invited to respond to this call for participation are experts from Africa and the Arab world in the field of written and documentary heritage (libraries, public and private and archives) and digital in the context of heritage protection, economic and political decision-makers, researchers and academics, managers, students as well as interested persons from the public, private and civil society sectors wishing to take part in the work of the Colloquium
Le colloque international PPPN2 « De la pierre au papier, du papier au numérique : quels moyens de sauvegarde du l'écrit ? » sera une tribune d’échanges : les études de cas et les réflexions méthodologiques seront mises à profit dans chaque domaines visés (collections, bibliothèques, archives et numérisation), afin d’éclairer les participants sur les meilleures pratiques en vue de participer à une conservation durable de l'écrit dans le patrimoine africain.
The PPPN2 international colloquium "From stone to paper, from paper to digital: what means of safeguarding the written word?" will be a forum for exchange : case studies and methodological reflections will be used in each of the targeted fields (collections, libraries, archives and digitization), in order to enlighten participants on the best practices for participating in the sustainable conservation of the written word in the African heritage

Le programme prévoit des conférences plénières délivrées par des spécialistes reconnus dans leur domaine.
We will select papers that are necessarily original on one of the following five themes:
Museums: collections of manuscripts and preservation
Libraries: classifications, preservation and digitization
Archives: inventory, digitization and outsourcing
Audiovisual: conservation, media technology and collections.
Digitization: sites and collections at risk
The program includes plenary lectures delivered by recognized specialists in their field
