Q: How do I find my Shared Google Drive?
A: Open your computer. Click the "Go" button on your computer dock. Once launched and logged in, click on the "Google Drive" icon. When the browser launches your drive, click on the link "Shared Drives" on the left hand side of the screen.
Q: Do I have to have my camera on?
A: For the most part, no. Unless the assignment, project, or group work requires the camera, you are allowed to not have the camera on as long as you demonstrate participation.
Q: Is attendance taken?
A: Yes! The time you are in class is recorded by the teacher and the WebEx platform.
Q: What do I do if I need supplies?
A: Contact Todd Poteet in advanced so that a supply kit can be created for you to pick up at the school. Schedules for pick-up are contingent upon administration approval, so plan ahead.
Q: How can I contact my teacher?
A: All contact information for your teacher is at the bottom of every page. You can also contact them through your WebEx Team chat.
Q: Where do I turn in assignments?
A: All assignments (unless noted otherwise) will be uploaded to your shared Google Drive for this class. You must place them in the folder with your name, in a folder with the name of the project, in a folder labeled "Final" to receive credit. All projects must be uploaded by the due date.
Q: Where are class meetings held?
A: Most class meetings will take place via WebEx Teams. You will need to download the application if it is not already installed on your computer. Your teacher will add you to a Team (class) and you will be notified by email or if you have the application open, via the application when a meeting is about to begin. You may also see your scheduled meetings here.
Q: Where do I report technology problems?
A: Start by reaching out to your teacher. They may be able to solve the issue. If not, call the Help Desk at 785-330-4357 (HELP) or email ITWorkOrder@usd497.org. (They will be busy so be patient). Menu Options: Press #1 for technology HELP for high school parents, teachers & students. #4 for PowerSchool HELP. Consider the below information when contacting the IT HELP desk. Help them to help you.
Make sure to include your name, school, and student ID number.
District ID tag number for your device in case they need to get remote access to try to repair your device.
Be specific about the problem and what steps you have taken to try to repair (write down any pop up messages that you are getting. I often take a photo of pop up messages and include those on the email).
E-Mail your concerns to the following:
itworkorder@usd497.org (Lawrence Public Schools information technology)
It is a good idea to also add the following individuals on the email as well.
khaplin@usd497.org (Keifer is the LHS technology contact)
kirsten.rusinak@usd497.org (LHS library specialist)
